Call for solidarity with fellow prisoners in Belarus.

Call for solidarity with fellow prisoners in Belarus.

It's been awhile since the last call for solidarity with Belarusian anarchists arrested. Today, we have to admit the urgent need for a new solidarity campaign to help them out of prison. Therefore, we appeal to organize in "Days of Action" in solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners on 22 and 23 September (the day of parliamentary elections is 23). Activists Ihar Alinevich, Mikalai Dziadok, Artsiom Prakapenka, Aliaksander Frantskievich, Jauhen Vas'kovich arrested in autumn 2010 and winter of 2011 and sentenced to terms ranging from three to eleven years in prison accused of a series of attacks to symbols and the State Capital. During these two years they spend in prison, his family and colleagues have done their best to make them feel comfortable during the time of conviction and also for their freedom. In October 2011 they were recognized as political prisoners by human rights organizations, giving them more opportunities to be released as soon as possible, because at that time the president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, faced pressure from the EU demands to free all political prisoners and despenalizarlos. Since August 2011 has pardoned more than thirty, but none of our colleagues have been granted freedom. Lukashenko said publicly that it would release only those who compose a clemency petition, admitting guilt and asking for mercy to him personally. It was established that the rest would remain in prison. Now there are fifteen political prisoners still in Belarus, of which there are five companions and another who was arrested for acts of solidarity with them. In fact, all anarchist prisoners asked several times if they wanted to sign the petition, five of them refused to do so. Prakapenka Artisom signed it under pressure but still in jail. All prisoners are suffering various types of pressure from the authorities of the prisons where they are because Lukashenko wants to be the winner of the situation in a way that seems to have been the EU that is forcing him to release prisoners by fear more economic and political sanctions, but although his will is release, it must be reiterated that it is only if asked before. We are totally against our peers are used as currency for EU benefits and condemn pressure who are suffering. We call everyone to protest against these abuses and demand the immediate release of political prisoners in Belarus, including anarchists.
